NOTE: Due to changes in industry practices, Discussion lists that are mentioned in this article are no longer available in MatrixMaxx.
Summer is officially here, and so is MatrixMaxx 15.2!
For a guided walkthrough of the new features, attend our free Overview of the new features and changes, Wednesday , June 24, 11:30 am Eastern time on WebEx. (RSVP to admin@matrixgroup.net to reserve your slot!)
Our most noticeable enhancements are in the Commerce Product Module …
- WWW Product Store Search Upgrade for all clients with the generic storefront.
- The Store Search has moved from the side to the top of the body area, with new/improved formatting that looks better on smaller tablet and phone devices. The long ‘Can’t find what you’re looking for? Try our Advanced Search’ link has been streamlined.
- Search results are compressed, and only feature a few pieces of data. Images and descriptions on this page are the ‘mini’ ones previously used on the Featured product page.
- Users may now ‘Add to Cart’ with a new, one-click button from the results page or link into the product view page for more details, and then add from there. [NOTE: Many products don’t have mini-images, and in these cases we are pulling the default mini-image so that the image is not blank]
- The new ‘Add to Cart’ button is on the Featured product page, too, so a user can add featured item into the cart with one click, without ever needing to link into the full product description.
- Search results are cleaner at the top; the search box is included again, so no need for a ‘back to search’ link, or the old ‘add to cart’ button as it is now on each product result.
- A product count is on the ‘Featured products’ page, as well as all search results pages
- A text-based URL (aka ‘slug’) rather than an ID-based URL, for better SEO
- NEW Commerce Product Summary and Comparison Report
- Linked from Commerce Module -> Reports
- Allows staff to input a date range and see product orders within that range, broken down by year and by particular attributes
And in other modules …
- Communications: WWW List Subscription Page Upgrades
- Admin Staff may now customize most of the help text at the top of the WWW Subscription page. Admin menu -> Edit Custom Settings -> Mailing List. We leave minimal help text in place at the top, ‘The following lists are available for you to subscribe/unsubscribe to. ‘ and then you may edit, delete, or add to the remaining text.
- We have modified the code so that users may only choose the ‘Digest’ option if the list is a discussion list; if it is a broadcast list controlled by staff this option no longer appears as it is not relevant.
- We have also changed the ‘Individual Messages’ option to say ‘Subscribe’ to reduce confusion. The ‘Not Subscribed’ option remains unchanged.
- Fundraising WWW Donor Form: Ability for users to see and choose to pay existing unpaid pledges rather than create a new pledge.
- Meetings: Meeting ‘Deal’ upgrade
- The existing group registration quantity group discount coding has been upgraded to offer staff a choice between two types of ‘deals’: the pre-existing Group Quantity-based discount fee and the new Rule-based deal fee. If a Deal is rule-based staff must answer 3 critical questions …
- How many registrations do you sign up for before a registrant qualifies for this special fee? (If you’re doing ‘Buy 2 get 1’, the number is 2. If you’re doing ‘Buy 1 get 3, the number is 1)
- Which fees quality? (Multi-select of available registration fees.)
- How many special fees do you qualify for at this point? (Unlimited is blank, or any other number. So if you’re doing ‘Buy 2 get 1’, the number is 1. If you’re doing ‘Buy 1 get 3, the number is 3)

- Meetings: ‘Add to Calendar’ changes
- Took ‘Add to Calendar’ off of the WWW Meeting Calendar template, per town hall feedback
- Upgraded code to transmit ‘location’ better in more instances
- Added a new mini-description field that can be transmitted for import into a calendar. Staff may fill in this description field on the intranet side during meeting setup.
- Finance/Exporting: Each payment reconciliation report now has an export
