How Can We Help?

MatrixMaxx 17.2 went live June 26, 2017 (Commerce Store Refresh)

Summer 2017 is here, and so is the latest release of MatrixMaxx.  MatrixMaxx 17.2 rolls out the first phase of our Commerce WWW Store Upgrades. For a guided walk-through of the release — and an overview of the just-completed server migrations and upcoming PayPal upgrade — our free Overview Session happened on Wednesday June 28, 2017, 11am Eastern time on WebEx. You can watch the recording here.

Enhancements in MatrixMaxx 17.2 include …

  • Commerce WWW Store Upgrades that enhance that appearance of the store layout and images.
    • We have modernized the Search Result pages and now allow for larger mini-cover images of your product covers.
    • The Product View page has had a major revamp, as well, with a cleaner presentation of the information and larger cover image.
    •  New ‘Original Product Image‘ field and Automatic Resizing of Commerce Cover Images
      • Maxx -> Commerce -> Products
      • Choose/Find a product
      • From the Product View page, go under Product Description and Details -> Edit Images
      • The New Original Product Image field is at top
      • If you want to start with a new, large, Original Product image, you can upload this large image then scroll down to bottom — ignoring the other 2 cover fields — and save/continue … Then Maxx will automatically resize the image and save it down into the appropriate sizes for the two cover fields
    • New Publish Date function
      • Instead of just published or unpublished, you can set publish dates.
      • The publishing options have therefore moved to the first edit page
      • Setting publish dates allows you to set a product to publish at a certain future date
      • To unpublish the product, you may set the end date to be yesterday, or clear the date fields completely
    • IMPORTANT: Some of the old commerce store elements may be cached in your browser. If a page is not formatting properly, or elements are missing or not behaving properly, please do a ‘hard refresh’ on the page prior to contacting Matrix to report an issue. (Using a keyboard, a browser can be forced to pull all elements of a page, again, by holding down the SHIFT key and clicking the browser refresh button.)
  • Server Migrations and Upgrades are now COMPLETE
    • All MatrixMaxx clients are serving on private virtual servers on Amazon’s AWS Cloud. This allows us to do more customizations on server-level settings (for example, attachment/list email size settings)
    • All MatrixMaxx clients are serving on Ubuntu 14 Linux operating system
    • We are now ready for the upcoming PayPal upgrade. According to PayPal’s documentation, they wanted all servers ready for the upgrade by June 30. (We are not 100% sure when this upgrade is going to actually occur. PayPal currently says “On June 30, 2017, PayPal will begin the process of discontinuing support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1. “.)
  • Meetings: Analytics Campaign Code now displays on the Meeting Overview page.
  • Exporting: More of the old CSV-only exports have been upgraded to our newer export framework which allows for field selection and for CSV or direct to excel.
    • All Meeting module exports, with the exception of the custom Photo Zip export and the Badge Builder export are now in the new framework
