How Can We Help?

MatrixMaxx 19.2 went live on June 18, 2019 (New Insights and Engagement Reporting)

The 19.2 MatrixMaxx release is here with new Reports of all types:  Business Intelligence, Engagement, Accounts, and more!

The free Overview Session was held on Thursday, June 20th, 2019. If you missed it, here’s the recording of the one-hour 19,2 webinar session, which walks over all of the new functions!

Enhancements available in MatrixMaxx 19.2 include …

More ‘Notifications and Insights’

Last quarter we introduced the framework for Notifications and Insights, and we received so much positive feedback that we immediately began work on expanding this feature …

  • 3 new notifications: New Company created on the WWW side,  Primary Contact Change, and Primary Contact Title Change [internal reference Maxx-3330, 3334, 3335]
  • The (MatrixMouse) avatar was capped at 99 in terms of counting/displaying new notifications, but some of you have such busy servers that we have up’d this to 3 digits, so now 999.  [internal reference Maxx-3354]
  • NEW Settings, located in the dropdown menu under your username in the upper right of the staff Intranet interface. Control whether Notifications are on/off for your profile, which notifications you get, and what your avatar looks like. (Not so fond of mice? Upload something different for yourself!) [internal reference Maxx-3328]

New! Disengagement Report for Individuals

By popular demand, we have added a new Disengagement Report for INDIVIDUALS!!  Check it out under Reports ->  Business Intelligence  [Internal Reference: Maxx-3302]

Engagement Calculator

We have rolled the generic version of the Organization/Company Engagement Calculator into the main product. This report allows you to customize an Engagement report containing data from a variety of modules, segmented and displayed in a variety of ways. A super-powerful tool for staff to use in exploring who your most engaged organization members are!  [Internal Reference:  Maxx-3333]

My Account

We have rolled the generic version of My Account into the main product. This component adds a piece to the My Profile page available on WWW, but this is OFF by default. If you want to experiment with this function, you may do so on your DEV server without impacting the live server. [Internal Reference:  Maxx-3361]

Consolidated Statement Builder

We’ve upgraded the existing consolidated statement – which pulls together all outstanding invoices for an organization in one place – to allow staff to hide certain invoices before printing the statement (either to paper or PDF).  [Internal Reference:  P-8574]

Other Enhancements and Changes

Organization Disengagement Report now has been upgraded; it now includes nonmember organizations as well as member organizations (Internal Reference MAXX-3301)

Upgraded Intranet Staff Roster to include Photos, which should make it a useful tool for new staff! (Internal Reference MAXX-2827)

Individual Query Builder now includes an explicit search for trade associations for Primary Dues-Payer Primary Contacts. We have added a very explicit, special case criteria in individual query builder: “Organizations -> Contact for a Primary (Dues-Paying) Member Organization with an active member record” >>> (select contact type)” which is useful for associations who want primary contacts FOR primary members rather than primary contacts attached to primary members (a subtle but important difference for trade associations with complex relationship trees). e.g., John Smith works for Dues-paying Parent Member A and is marked as ‘primary contact’ for Child Member B. The Primary for Dues-paying Parent Member A is actually Susan, who also works for A. If you did a search using our existing tools for Primary Contacts in Dues paying active members, you get both John and Susan … but if you just want the primary of the primary dues-payer, this is not what you want.  (Internal Reference 119950)

Registration Dup-checking adjusted after a subtle bug was found in certain use-cases that allowed a duplicate registration to be created. (Internal Reference 120121 )

The “Default Settings” page in Meetings now includes an option to Display Meeting Comments Prominently which will add the internal ‘comments’ field to the meeting search results and meeting view page.

Security, Privacy and Integrations

In addition to the upgrades noticeable in the interface, there are other things that have been changed ‘under the hood’ or are in the process of changing:

Payment Gateways [internal reference MAXX-3210]

As mentioned, we are working to upgrade our connection to PayPal’s PayFlow Pro to Transparent Redirect which posts payment details silently to the Gateway server, so this sensitive information never goes through our/your website. Meanwhile, some clients have asked us if we’d consider alternate gateways to PayPal. The answer is Yes, we are considering integration with an additional gateway service, as long as it is a stable gateway with a large user base and an option to retain the PCI burden on their side. If there is a particular gateway you are interested in, let us know. We are already considering AffiniPay and BluePay.

Server Upgrades en masse to Ubuntu18 and NGINX

The MatrixMaxx AMS has functioned on a LAMP [Linux (Ubuntu, currently 14.04 LTS, aka Trusty Tahr), Apache, MySQL, Python] stack for years, but now we are beginning our transition to LEMP [Linux (Ubuntu, version 18.04 LTS, aka Bionic Beaver), NGINX, MySQL, Python]. Our newest clients are already running LEMP, and we’ve successfully transitioned our DEV environment in the last few weeks. Production upgrades begin, soon!
