How Can We Help?

MatrixMaxx 19.3 went live on September 30, 2019 (Commerce Subscription Upgrade and More)

The 19.3 MatrixMaxx release is here with some exciting additions to the Commerce module, in addition to a variety of other tweaks and upgrades. Please take a few minutes to review these patch notes, as all notable changes are documented here.

If you would like to learn more and see some of these upgrades in action, you may view the MatrixMaxx 19.3 Overview Session from Oct. 2, 2019.

New! Subscriptions (starts at 3:30 in overview recording)

For anyone using the Commerce Products Module to power their online store, we have added a new Subscription product version, in addition to the existing Print and Digital Versions.

Using this new product version, staff will be able to attach a list of individuals to a product and have this list automatically and immediately update when a user purchases this product! This list may then be used to power special fees or exports or queries or privilege group access levels, and the user will automatically be removed from the list per the term of the subscription as set by staff.  [Internal Reference: Maxx-3287]

For more information, please see the help article on how to use this exciting new Subscription feature.

Store Order ‘Notifications and Insights’ (starts at 43:45 in overview recording)

In early 2019 we introduced the framework for Notifications and Insights, and we are continuing our expansions of this popular feature into the commerce module …

  • Notification of New WWW Store Order
    • This notification will be available for any staff who have access to the Commerce module. For staff who do not have access to this module, they will not receive the Notifications nor will they have the option to subscribe to them in their ‘Settings’ options [internal reference Maxx-3331]
    • The Insight will provide information on number of products sold, comparing the total to this year (current calendar year) and last year (previous calendar year)
  • Also, there is a new ‘Clear All Notifications‘ button at the bottom of the ‘Notifications and Insights’ dropdown [internal reference 120233]

Security, Privacy and Integrations

In addition to the upgrades noticeable in the interface, there are other things that have been changed ‘under the hood’ or are in the process of changing:

Server Upgrades en masse to Ubuntu18 and NGINX

The MatrixMaxx AMS has functioned on a LAMP [Linux (Ubuntu, currently 14.04 LTS, aka Trusty Tahr), Apache, MySQL, Python] stack for years, but now we are beginning our transition to LEMP [Linux (Ubuntu, version 18.04 LTS, aka Bionic Beaver), NGINX, MySQL, Python]. Our newest clients are already running LEMP, and we’ve successfully transitioned our DEV environment in the last few weeks. Production upgrades begin this fall.
